Web Site, App and Email Use Information

Intermatic utilizes technology to accumulate information about traffic on our web sites, use of Apps and the effectiveness of email communication with you. Intermatic may collect information 1) during your visit to a Intermatic web site or during download and use of an App, 2) when you open an email from Intermatic and – where legally required (e.g. in the EU) – you have given us your consent to do so, and 3) when you click a link within an email from Intermatic and – where legally required (e.g. in the EU) – you have given us your consent to do so, Intermatic utilizes automatic data collection tools which include web beacons, cookies, embedded web links, and similar information gathering tools. The data collected may include your IP address, the pages you view at Intermatic web sites, the links you click, and other actions you take in connection with Intermatic web sites and Apps. Intermatic may also use some of these automatic data collection tools in connection with certain emails sent from Intermatic and therefore may collect information using these tools when you open an email or click on a link contained in an email from Intermatic if – where legally required (e.g. in the EU) – you have given us your consent. We use this information to: gather information in order to design and improve our web pages and Apps, monitor web site, email and App usage, and compile business and technical statistics. We may share this information on an aggregate or individual basis with third parties in furtherance of our business needs. However, Intermatic does not sell or rent such information to third parties for the purpose of soliciting you for non Intermatic products and services.

Use of Information in the Social Networking Environment

Intermatic may facilitate the use of social computing tools on its Sites to enable online sharing and collaboration among members who have registered to use them. These include forums, wikis, blogs and other social media platforms.

When registering to use these tools, you will be asked to provide certain personal information to Intermatic. Depending on the platform, you may be agreeing to allow certain of the information you provide to be displayed as part of a public profile in the social networking environment in which you are registering to participate. Registration information which is not automatically made available to other participants as part any public profile will be subject to and protected in accordance with this privacy statement.

Any other content you post, such as pictures, information, opinions, or any other type of personal information which you make available to other participants on these social platforms, is not subject to this privacy statement. Rather, such content is subject to the Terms of Use applicable to whichever forum, wiki, blog or other social media platform on which you are posting. Furthermore, additional guidelines and privacy policy information may be identified for your attention in regard of your use of such social media. Please make sure you review the Terms of Use and other policies applicable to any social media in which you elect to participate to better understand your, Intermatic's, and other parties' rights and obligations with regard to such content. In addition, you should be aware that the content you post on any such social computing platforms may be made broadly available to others inside and outside Intermatic.

Intermatic sites and Apps are not intended for use by minors under the age of 13 years, and we do not intend to collect any personal information or data from children under the age of 13. We do not believe that minors should submit personal information without the consent of a parent or guardian, and encourage parents and guardians to supervise their children's online activities.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

If changes are made to Intermatic’s Privacy Policy, we will post the updated version on our web sites with an updated revision date, and will provide updates to our Apps.

Data Protection Rules

Collecting and Processing Data

When you visit our internet site, our servers routinely store various access data in an electronic protocol. This data includes the IP address for your access point, the web page you visited us from, the web pages you visit on our site, and the date and time of the page call-up and thus the duration of your visit. Browser Add-On to Disable Google Analytics

The browser add-on to disable Google Analytics gives the website visitor greater control over choosing which data about the websites you have visited is captured by Google Analytics. The add-on notifies the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js) that no information is to be sent to Google Analytics regarding the website visit. If you wish to use this function, download the add-on and install it for your current web browser. The browser add-on to disable Google Analytics is available for Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari and Opera.
