On September 20, 2015, the Ci Yuan Community Club – a four-story, 6,000-square meter club complete with a hawker center, family medical clinic, a 500-seat theatre, senior care center, and several recreational facilities –opened its doors in Ang Mo Kio, Singapore.
Singapore is an energy conscious country with the Ci Yuan Community Club not being an exception. Lighting makes up a huge part of utility usage and cost in a facility of this size, and it was estimated that sensors would save them precisely 25% each month.
Turning to the Experts
That’s where Grässlin comes in. The facility chose the talis PS 360-7-1 presence detector by Grässlin over other large competitors because it offered better control over key application settings like lux level, meter range, time control, and the ability to shade areas for more specific control of detection angles.
The facility used the product to control lighting in multiple common areas within the center including restrooms, corridors, entrances and staircases – totaling 120 pieces for the project, which was supplied by Grässlin’s distribution partner, Acee Electric.
Fostering a Sense of Community
The facility came about based on feedback from neighborhood residents wanting to nurture closer community ties while also providing facilities for the elderly.
The facility also caters to the elderly by having motion sensors – offering even more convenience for visitors.
